Latest news on the state of the King's Head building on the main A15 at Morton

September 28, 2008 3:24 PM

This historic pub is situated on the main A15 at the busy crossroads in Morton. The pub burnt down in June 2007 and has been derelict ever since, local residents fear that it will remain so for years. It is situated on a dangerous cross roads used by children going to and from the local primary school. Peter recently raised the issue of the current state of disrepair with it's dangers especially to local children. The Charles Wells Brewery (owners of the King's Head) have now confirmed to Peter that they will be taking action to stabilise the building by installing a new roof and will then remove the scaffolding. This area will continue to be difficult for children to cross on their way to school, we now need to take the opportunity to make this junction safer for residents and school children.
